How the Barbed Tape Obstacles become to a Popular Security Wire
Barbed tape obstacles is the most popular and widely used security wires in the world. Comparing with normal barbed wire, barbed tape obstacles is much safety, and easy installation.
In the world war II, or when you watching a battle movie, or when you pass a military zone. You can find barbed tape obstacles easily. If you install some lines of normal barbed wire, enemy can break or cut the barbed wire easily with only a small cutter. But barbed tape obstacles is all mixed together and the wire is much thicker than normal barbed wire. It will cost more time and power to cut it off. Also the core wire of barbed tape obstacles is high tension steel wire, normally the tension strength can be 1150 Mpa ~ 1450 Mpa. This tension strength is almost 3 times of normal barbed wire.
There are a lot of blade type of barbed tape obstacles, the most popular one is called BTO-22. The word “BTO” is the short form of “barbed tape obstacles”, the number “22” means the length of the blade is 22mm. There are also some more different types of blades, they are BTO-10, BTO-12, BTO-15, BTO-18, BTO-25, BTO-28, BTO-30, CBT-60, CBT-65. In BTO-10 ~ BTO-30, most of the material are pre – hot dipped galvanized material. However, the long blade length CBT-60 and CBT-65 mostly use stainless steel as the material, SS 304 or SS 316. The reason of it because the long length of CBT-60 and CBT-65 will be easily make the blade bending, so we need higher tension strength material for hold the strength when pressing the blade.
The shape of barbed tape obstacles also different. Three types of popular shapes. First one is called concertina type, which is mixed the wire to be concertina shape. Second one is called flat type, which is make it flat shape and mostly used on the top of security fencing to prevent people climbing over it. The last one is called welded type, which is to welded the barbed tape to be a mesh panel and used as a security fencing panel.
