Woven Field Fence – An Introduction

Woven Field Fence also called farm fence is a popular fencing materials in our metal fencing production line. There are many types of woven wire fencing and woven field fence is definitely one of the most popular ones. There are a few reasons for that. It can be used in a lot of applications, such as pig farms or other animal farms. And it can also be used in forest or other farming areas. Woven field fence is actually a very simple product. It is formed by line wire and cross wire. Usually with a thicker selvage wire which is the top and bottom wire.

It is a common practice that to make the top and bottom wire much thicker than line wire and cross wire. And the diameter of line wire and cross wire can also be different according to purchaser’s requirement. The most significant feature of woven field fence is the different spacing size between line wires. Normally the spacing size between line wire would decrease downwards. This is an important design as it make sure that small animals can not cross through at the bottom of the fencing net.

Now let me tell you a little bit about the knot formed at the cross of line wire and cross wire. The standard knot of woven field fence is call hinge joint knot. Hinge joint knot is formed by winding the cross wire around the line wire to no less than 3 turns. This type of knot is good looking and animal safe. And also it’s quite strong.
