Welded Wire Mesh Fence Panels
Regarding the EN-10223-4 standard, it is a rule to match all exported products from out of Europe. Also the CE certificate become to a passport of the products to show if it is good enough for matching Europe standard. EN-10223-4 is one of the Europe standard to show the quality standard of steel wire and wire products for fences – Part 4: steel wire welded mesh fencing.
First of all, this EN-10223-4 standard is only for the specification wire diameter not higher than 10mm. For welded wire mesh fence panels spacing definition, it has to be the distance measured between the wire centers from two wires or leading edge to leading edge. When we describe the mesh size, need to describe the spacing of horizontal wires, then spacing of vertical wires. For example, welded wire mesh fencing panels horizontal wire spacing is 200mm, vertical wire spacing is 50mm, then we say the mesh size is 200mm*50mm. The overhanging edges can not be avoid during welding process. Some types of products need the overhanging edges to be a spike on top or other application, but it is very important to make a flush cut edges on the edges in vertical direction, because sometimes it will affect the installation a lot. The base metal of welded wire mesh fence panels has to be low carbon steel, welding process has to be produced by electrical resistance welding at every line wire/cross wire intersection. Another two important mechanical property of the welded wire mesh fence panels is the tensile strength and shear strength. The tensile strength of the welded wire mesh fence panels low carbon steel wire raw material need to be in the range of 350Mpa ~ 950Mpa. EN-10223-4 does not have any specific number of the shear strength, but the shear strength need to be not less than 75% of the tensile strength. EN-10223-4 also described the packaging details which should be suitably packaged in specified multiples on a pallet.
